Where is the county leadership, the local leadership? What are you saying out there? If not you, who? Where in Measure 2 does it say anything about cutting services to veterans, for fire and police or for our seniors?
Wait I will answer this for you, it does not cut these services!!! Your county commissioners would have to “throw you under the bus” as one letter writer has written. Your county/local leaders would have to vote to get rid of your services.
Measure 2 can be found on the secretary of state website https://vip.sos.nd.gov/pdfs/Portals/petition-prop-tax.pdf . I will pay anyone $100 if they can showme where in the measure they are going to have these services eliminated (details of payment at http://www.bbuz.biz/100_giveaway) I need your help to look closely because I can not find this. But if you try I still will give away $100 cash on June 8.
Measure 2 eliminates property tax, the revenue generated from property tax shall be replaced by other tax revenue by the state legislature. All governing is still left to the county commissioners and local entities; your local governing bodies would have to vote to cut the service.
I am very angry, someone has misled the veterans, the firemen and the seniors to believe they will not have their programs funded if Measure 2 passes. To stoop so low you would feed on the vulnerabilities’ of our fellow North Dakotans using scare tactics to entice, confuse, frighten those who have fought for our country, for our freedom to lead them to believe they would not continue to receive their services they have now. Shame on you!!!! and Stop scaring Grandma!

This does not change with the passage of Measure 2. Measure 2 abolishes property tax and they shall be replaced with other tax revenue our state receives.

Kristi Hardy wrote in the Grand Forks Herald, on April 12, that she opposes Measure 2. because , in her opinion, it is not about property taxes at all.
I beg your pardon -- then what is it about, if not property taxes? The property tax is the main reason it is on the ballot. It is an immoral tax that needs to be replaced. No other tax subjects the taxpayers to an extortion methods as does the property tax. No wonder it is the most despised tax in the USA and North Dakota.
It is a fact throughout the USA & North Dakota that property tax payers need government relief while nobody needs income tax relief. Ms Hardy feels that perpetuating the property tax is common sense. What sense does it make to subject ones house to hostage taking, and forced to go on welfare, when there is a better alternative?
It is hard to believe that someone, who has read the Measure 2 text, does not understand that it does not take away all local taxing authority. It just removes the property tax. It is astonishing that the opponents of Measure 2 don’t understand that local government funding will be guaranteed by law and the State Constitution to be equal or better than under the present property tax concept.
Only people whose minds have been manipulated by the self serving coalition would vote NO on Measure 2. And people who understand that Measure 2 will give us back our basic Constitutional Rights of home ownership, will vote YES on Measure 2.
